Nordic noir, Nordic design, the Nordic wave – the Nordic countries seem hotter than ever, and this first batch of acts for SPOT 2017 underlines that the wave is far from over and that the music remains characterized by its curiosity, new directions, its diversity, fertile growth layers and a high artistic level. So please enjoy hard-hitting rock, soft folk, angelic voices and things that make you want to dance. It’s all there – and there are more acts to come. When Thanks start playing their melodious electronic funk, it is hard not to move your feet – a new duo but since they were both part of Alphabeat, they do not lack experience. AvAvAv is a new project, but they have already been signed by Warner, who could not resist their electro pop hymns. AvAvAv have already played gigs at Sonar in Reykjavik and Club NME in London. School of X is Rasmus Littauer’s dream pop solo project when he is not playing percussion for MØ, Major Lazer, The Asteroids Galaxy Tour, Reptile Youth, etc.. Norwegian Death By Unga Bunga for their part take it in a completely different direction with their psyche/ punk/garage. 
Nils Bech – theatrical performance and dramatic bel canto. Formerly known as Rangleklods, Danish Blondage are now an established duo, but their ambitions remain just as international with their “Weird Electronic Pop Music”. International blogs have already hailed Noréll’s fusion of Chicago house, hiphop, punk, etc.. Mantua is a new melodious Danish super group whose members have international experience from Veto, Dúné and Turboweekend respectively. And then there is Norwegian Nils Bech (picture) who is one of a kind with his mix of theatrical performance and dramatic bel canto, which was hugely successful in the Norwegian TV series SKAM in December. In other words something for everyone.
