SPOT Festival 2017 will be launched by an intense concert with Danish world-class film scores.

Danish Jacob Groth is the composer of the scores for some of the biggest Danish and international film and TV hits. When SPOT Festival 2017 opens its doors, the soundtrack will be the five-time Emmy-award winner’s acclaimed music.

“SPOT Festival celebrates interesting music from the Nordic music scene, and in recent years the festival has had a particular focus on the interplay between film and music. That is why it is only natural to celebrate one of the greatest Danish film composers, who has also attracted international attention. We look forward to giving the audience an exciting and different music experience”, says Gunnar Madsen, who is head of SPOT Festival.

The music will be performed by the Danish Chamber Orchestra and the Danish Filmharmonics. The concert is organized by the Concert Hall Aarhus and SPOT Festival, who together with Denmark’s biggest composer association have decided to celebrate film music and more specifically one of the most famous film composers from the Nordic countries.

 A multitude of famous scores.
Jacob Groth has composed the music for classic Danish TV shows such as Unit One, Better Times, Taxa, and The Protectors. At the concert “Millennium – a Film Concert” the audience may look forward to a long list of Jacob Groth’s most famous compositions ranging from the score for the film adaptations of Stieg Larsson’s Millennium trilogy and the Dolph Lundgren action film Skin Trade to the EMMY-Award-winning Danish film and miniseries Young Andersen.

“Millennium – a Film Concert” – at Musikhuset Aarhus, Store Sal, Thursday 4th of May 2017, 8 p.m.
