SPOT Festival invites all filmmakers and media artists to submit their works for SPOT Festival’s Open Call for Film.

The objective is to zoom in on the Nordic film scene and provide a platform and spotlight for film talents. In order to be accepted, the films have to have a running time of 3-5 minutes and they must focus on the interplay of image and sound. How to do that is entirely up to you, however, and our main evaluation criteria will be originality.

Any filmic device, any genre and type are welcome.

Anything from animation and stop-motion to live action and video art!

Deadline for sending in works:

Wednesday 15th March 12:00.

Together with curators from the film world SPOT Festival will single out the best works among the submitted productions. The selected films will be showcased by SPOT Festival before, during and up till six months after the festival on SPOT Festival’s platforms (social media, website, etc.). The SPOT Festival film platform is an integral part of the festival both in terms of communication and profile and aims to facilitate contact between the talents and the audience/ industry people. The makers of each of the selected films will receive two accreditations for SPOT Festival – including SPOT+, and we hope that people will take this unique opportunity to create contacts and networks among the many international music, advertising and film business people present at the festival.

During the festival, there is a special programme for the accredited filmmakers, and on Sunday a talent meet-up in Aarhus art cinema Øst for Paradis is held for a larger group of film talents, where everybody is welcome (including people without SPOT wristbands).
