Aarhus Calling 2017 takes place May 3rd to May 5th

From Wednesday this week, 35 Danish and international songwriters will meet in Aarhus to write music at Aarhus Calling – Denmark’s biggest event for songwriters and producers. The idea behind Aarhus Calling is to gather some of the best songwriters worldwide, and let them be inspired by the settings, each other and Spot Festival to write new music that can be recorded by artists all over the world. The songwriting sessions will take place in studios at The Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus,

Aarhus Calling is for international, national and upcoming songwriters and producers. This project is creating a gateway for writers and producers from all over the world to work with songwriting on a very high level. The main goal is to export songs worldwide and break down international music barriers.

Aarhus Calling invites million selling writers, producers, A&R’s and publishers from all over the world for an unique co-writing workshop, where they will write songs to be presented to worldwide artists. Aarhus Calling wants to emphasize the songwriting industry as well as give the upcoming and established Danish writers the network and opportunity they need to take their songwriting career to the next level.

Among the guests this year are: Mischke (Michael Jackson, Britney Spears, Little Mix, Gwen Stefani etc.), Calle Lehmann (Panic At The Disco!, Urban Cone), James Newman (BRIT and ASCAP awards – Rudimental both ft. Elly Eyre and Ed Sheeran) and Sam Preston (Olly Murs, John Newman, Enrique Iglesias, Kylie and Nas).

Aarhus Calling started in 2015 and has been attended by American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi, Kanye West producer Che Pope, Danish artists Nik & Jay, Cutfather, Remee, Chief1 and others. Several hits has been written during the first camps  – including Ricky Martin’s comeback hit “Vente Pa Ca” with more than 800 million views on Youtube  – and Nik & Jay’s No. 1 hit “Magisk”.
